Public Engagement Practitioners Needed!

Strathcona County is looking to develop a comprehensive resource list of public engagement professionals in the Alberta Capital Region who have expertise implementing a variety of public participation techniques. The resource list will be used by County staff when short term assistance is required for public engagement events that are part of a larger process. This may involve facilitating meetings and conducting interviews or focus groups as well as staff groups.

Edmonton Coffee Klatch Survey

The Edmonton coffee klatsch sessions have been put on hold in order to complete a survey of Edmonton and area IAP2 members and gather ideas on how to improve the participation and experience at sessions. We are reaching out to Edmonton area IAP2 members to provide their feedback via the survey link below. If you have not yet provided your feedback, please let us know if you have ideas that you would like to see for coffee klatsches in 2016.

Message from the President, Amanda Kaiser

It's definitely been an interesting, busy and challenging year for many P2 practitioners in Alberta this year.

In 2015, the IAP2 Wild Rose Board of Directors focused on providing member value in the form of lunch and learns and coffee klatches in Calgary and Edmonton throughout the year as well as an Indigenous Engagement event in Calgary in partnership with Synergy Alberta at their annual conference in November. We also invested in relationships with other organizations and groups.

Subcommittee members, advisory group participants and selected external subject matter experts will propose a path forward for including indigenous communities in the public participation process.
